| The Voluntary Legal
Services Program of Northern California offers employment opportunities
as well as unpaid internship positions to qualified applicants
who are interested in improving the access to justice for the
indigent in the Sacramento region.
EMPLOYMENT OPPORTUNITIES - PAID POSITIONS
Paid positions that may become available include those for
staff attorneys, law clerks, paralegals, or administrative
support. As such positions become available, they will be
listed HERE.
INTERNSHIPS
Law students are sought on an ongoing basis for unpaid internship positions with VLSP. The internships typically call for a commitment of approximately 4 hours per week, and preference is given to those applicants who will commit to being an intern for a full academic year or over the summer months. Interns may work for academic credit or simply the experience obtainable through a unique internship program.
The available internship positions vary according to the needs of our program at any particular time. Most interns are needed to assist at one of VLSP’s Pro Per Clinics, which are held both during the day and evenings, to assist with interviewing clients and legal form completion, as well as the administrative support tasks essential to the operation of the Clinics. All work performed by interns is supervised by a Staff Attorney.
Applications from prospective interns are taken on a continuous basis. Those interested in an internship position should forward a resume and cover letter to vlsp@vlsp.org. Please feel free to contact us at that address with any questions about a possible internship with VLSP.
