The Voluntary Legal Services Program of Northern California provides
services to clients who need help with reinstatement of their
California driver’s licenses. This help increases the clients’
likelihood that they will be able to obtain employment and increase
their family’s financial stability. VLSP can advise a client
as to how to resolve those issues that led to the suspension of
the client’s driver’s license, such as Failures to
Pay or Appear, and about the process of reinstating one’s
driver’s license.
Eligible clients with these types of problems are referred to
the Driver’s License Reinstatement Clinic. At this Clinic,
clients will receive assistance from paralegals who are experienced
in this area of law.
The Clinic’s staff and volunteers do not represent clients
in legal proceedings, but they do provide legal advice and assistance
with preparation of legal documents.
The Driver’s License Reinstatement Clinic is held in conjunction
with the Criminal Records Expungement Clinic on Tuesdays, Wednesday
and Thursdays between 10:00 a.m. and 4:00 p.m., at the Broadway
Career Center. Please click
here for the location of the Clinic. Client appointments are scheduled for the week on Monday mornings, beginning at 8:00 am, at the site of the Clinic.
This project is funded in part by a grant from the Sacramento Employment and Training Agency (SETA).
